JUST A DAY OF DETAILING THE TRIM, INSTALLING SHOE MOLDING AROUND THE NEW FLOOR AND WORKING OUT A FEW DETAILS

Someone took the door down and left the jamb with the mortising holes and door stop on it. Since it had to come down either way, it worked out to just repair it.
These pieces are rough, but they will clean up nice.
Bondo fills deep holes, dries fast and hard.
The beltsander cuts the Bondo fast.
The orbital sander does a good job cleaning up after the beltsander.
The jamb and casings are back in place, ready for, filler, caulk and paint.
Dap CrackShot works great for filling nail holes. It sands easy with fine paper
Recaulking  the molding. The Sherwin Williams 950A works well.

I HAD A FEW MINUTES TO NAIL ON A FEW PLANKS ON THE TOOL SHED BEFORE DARK TODAY

Gathering up the last few pieces left for each side of the door. Sometimes it is tempting to just go and buy everything retail and just get done, but that would take away the challenge of building with recycled materials. COST IS STILL $242.93

GUESS WHY THIS LITTLE ROOM WAS LAST?

There is nothing exciting about pulling a commode, but it has to go to get the floor down.

TIME TO CRANK UP SOME BEACH BOYS AND GET THIS CHORE OVER WITH!

THE COMMODE IS OUT AND THE FLOOR IS DOWN

After flushing, the wet vac works great for getting all of the water out of the tank and bowl.

A NICE QUIET STREET

Sometimes when you need a breather, it's nice to walk out in the front and look down this road that runs into the lake.

A SMALL PROJECT FOR A NICE LADY IN ENCHANTED OAKS, TEXAS

The old peel and stick floors in the bathroom are being replaced with new wood flooring.

OUT WITH THE CARPET AND IN WITH NEW WOOD FLOORING IN THE MASTER BEDROOM

After laying 400 sq. feet of flooring, this last 8 inches looked good.

SHE WAS SO HAPPY TO GET THIS LINEN REWORKED

This bathroom linen was not very useful. It was 3 feet deep. You practically had to unload it to get something from the back of it. In the commode area, we opened up the wall and converted it so that there would be an 18 inch linen in each room. It just needs doors and paint.

I'M GLAD THIS PEEL AND STICK WAS JUST IN THE BATHROOM

The old floor was really brittle. In places that wouldn't scrape off, a glancing blow with a hammer would break it loose.

TIME TO START ANOTHER PROJECT WHILE ROUNDING UP SOME MORE OLD LUMBER FOR THE TOOL SHED

This room and the room next to it will become one big room. The wall behind the lamp will be removed. The hip style ceiling will be removed. A fireplace will be added in place of the three windows.

THIS 12X12 BEDROOM WILL BE PART OF THE NEW ROOM

The pan ceiling in this room will be coming out.

ATTIC VIEW ABOVE THE TWO ROOMS

All of this will be removed and replaced with one vaulted ceiling with beams.

THIS UTILITY ROOM IS GOING TO GET A MAKEOVER

The wallpaper will be replaced with a troweled texture. Acoustic ceiling will be scraped off and will get a troweled texture. Cabinets and moldings will be painted (maybe new cabinet doors), and new granite counter tops.

A LITTLE WORK ON THE OLD THUNDERBIRD TODAY WHILE IT RAINED

The rolled and pleated seats look good.

THE OLD 1965 PLATES ARE STILL AROUND

THE ORIGINAL HUBCAPS ARE IN GREAT SHAPE

THIS CAR HAS REAL CHROME AROUND THE WINDOWS

The headliner is supported with steel rods

THIS STOOL SHOULD BE NICE TO SIT ON WHILE SPENDING A LITTLE TIME IN THE TOOL SHED

I really like these old counter stools

THE LARGEST WALL INSIDE IS DONE.

It was nice to get this wall done first. I think I have enough lumber to do the other end on each side of the door. It's time to find some more old lumber to finish everything.

Cost Is Still $242.93

IMPALA HUBCAP

When these hubcaps did fall off, they didn't break. If you could find them, you just put them on again.

TEXACO PUMP SPINNER SIGN

This old sign is dated 3-1931

NO WORK TODAY ! HAD TO CELEBRATE WITH MOM TWO DAYS LATE

I picked up mom today (88 years old). We did our favorite thing....going around Dallas reminiscing. We went down to Mama's Daughters' Diner for breakfast. It was great! We had a great time reminiscing about Dallas, the grand kids, the great grand kids, and all. It was a great day. "Thanks Mom For Always Being There"

YOU JUST CAN'T BEAT THE OLD DINERS

I just love signs like these!

THE ORIGINAL MAMA'S DAUGHTERS DINER

The free-standing buildings are so much cooler than the "Strip Centers"

THE MARGARET HILL HUNT BRIDGE

This bridge is really nice in front of the Dallas skyline. It would be nice to see " The Red Horse" in there!
